Winter hours

Autumn is here and as always, things are getting slower at the shop so we adjust our opening hours like we do every winter. These hours will take effect on the Tuesday 11th of October.

We will be busy in the background with some changes in the shop but also getting prepared for the new season of 2017.
We already got some nice BMC 2017 Roadmachine’s in store to have a look at. These are ideal for the winter and harsh conditions (see Léon Georget above) with their clearance for wider tires! I’m sure Léon would have loved a Roadmachine in these conditions.

Cervelo’s C-Series

Cervelo doesn’t need an introduction, however their new C-Series definitely does! We all know they are known for their aerodynamics, light frames and sleek design. However going from one dimension to another, a bike designed for ultimate comfort but still with an aggressiveness Cervelo can produce. A bike to take on any road type and any challenge. Certainly peeks our interest! We can’t wait to test this bike out and give you a personal sum up.

From Cervelo: “There is a real need for a fast, ultralight bike that’s easier to ride on a variety of road surfaces and in a broad range of conditions”. This qoute of Phil Spearman, Senior Product Manager Cervélo, sums it up! The C5 marks a sweet spot between an agressive racing bike and the so called “gravel grinders” – delivering the perfect bike for those who are in fit for the long haul, but don’t want to wrestle with a heavy and lumbering touring, gravel or cyclocross bike.

The six unbeatable benefits of the C-Series

Moving the BB closer to the ground lowers the bike’s centre of gravity, improving stability and handling. Longer chainstays, a shallower headtube angle and additional fork rake all in- crease trail, while extra tire clearance allows for a wider range of tire sizes and room for a fender. All of this also produces a very stable, smooth and reliable ride.

The lower BB drops the rider relative to the handlebars. Combined with a taller fork, this adds up to 22mm in frame stack without exaggerating the headtube.

850 grams = the lightest endurance road bike on the market today.

A single-piece rear triangle boosts stiffness, allowing further weight savings. The flat-mount standard ensures compatibility with virtually all commonly used calipers and rotor sizes via adapters, and through-axles improve alignment and eliminate the risk of accidental wheel dropouts for maximum safety.

The American-manufactured all-carbon fork balances lateral stiffness with comforting vertical compliance for a peerless rid- ing experience.

Everything about the C Series — from the extraordinarily curved seat-stays and Project California fork to the shorter frame reach and lower bottom bracket — reflects a deft balance of Cervélo-calibre performance, endurance-oriented comfort, and ride quality.

All in all, a new design always creates expectations but the strategic move from Cervelo will make this bike unique and not a standard which will be copied by other brands. They waited, they released and they will conquer. What else to expect from these Canadian guys and girls!?
